The floor you see.The work underneath.

Flooring installation in Dallas–Fort Worth involves the rooms, the product and the surface beneath it. A useful plan considers how materials connect across the home and what preparation is needed. Use the room planner above for approximate dimensions, then bring these questions into the construction discussion.

01

How should I compare flooring for different rooms?

Discuss foot traffic, cleaning routines, pets, moisture exposure and the feel you want in the space. Tile, luxury vinyl plank and engineered wood have different product and installation requirements; suitability depends on the selected material and site conditions. If you want one finish across several rooms, include the full route in the discussion. Samples help compare appearance, while a site review helps define the proposed installation work.

02

What preparation should be included in the proposal?

Existing floor removal, subfloor condition, leveling, underlayment and the treatment of adjoining surfaces can change the scope. Furniture, appliances, trim and disposal may also need coordination. Ask which tasks are included and which depend on reviewing the existing floor. A clear proposal should distinguish the new finish from preparation and supporting work, so a product price is not mistaken for the complete installed project cost.

03

Why do thresholds, stairs and transitions matter?

A flooring project connects rooms, door openings and sometimes stairs or exterior entries. Material thickness and adjacent finishes can affect the transition between spaces. Discuss areas where an abrupt change would interfere with everyday movement, along with trim and door-clearance needs. Show Franklin the full route through the affected rooms so the scope can consider those connections rather than focusing only on the center of each floor.

04

What should I measure and share first?

Provide the city, room names and approximate length and width for each area. The planner’s figures are useful for explaining the project, rather than final purchasing quantities. Include hallways, closets, stairs and the boundaries where materials change. Mention existing-floor removal, furniture moving and your preferred timing. Photographs of the current floor and any visible concerns help Franklin discuss the appropriate site review and next step.
